My buddy is color blind and he trained his house dog to trail wounded deer. I thin the dog is a blk. lab if I remember correctly. I arrowed a deer in the rain a few years back, and the dog found it within 3 hrs. of the shot (within 10min. of tracking).

My friend is color blind, and I don't really know how he does it??? Also, it must be hard early season scouting, when the deer are in their summer coat (red), and the foliage is bright green...hmm

2- hunt in the snow.
![]() I'll be sure and try that!!;) |
There are products like Bloodglow that have reagents that change the color of blood. It might be worth looking into.

Fldeerman you need to remember (don't know your age) that back in 1972 we had a pretty good snow. We are due another one.:D

I am color blind and there are times I really struggle to see blood trails. But luckly my best friend is usually hunting with me and he seems to have bloodhound traits! He can find blood as if it is glowing like neon. If he is not around then I am pretty well screwed.

Thanks all, were going out this weekend so hopefully he can get more practice...lol. I thought about the blood trailing lights, but wasnt sure if it really worked or gimmick.
