Default Too Many Attractants?

My buddy recently purchased a new house that includes about a acre of the hardwoods behind his house. We was moving some stuff in and I noticed a 50 lb bag of corn, a salt block, block topper, and deer cane in his garage. I asked him what he was doing with all that and he said he intended to put it out on his part of the woods to see what was back there. His theory is the more stuff he puts out the more deer in can bring in. Is his logic right? I've always heard "over doing it" can cause problems.

(PS he's not hunting over this its just to see what's back there.)

If he sets up trail cameras to the different things that are out he can see what they are liking best and just use the ones they are eating the most. You can never have too many groceries for deer.
