Actually a rock and a chain. Sounds like you have had this experience.

The air compressor method can be very messy if you're not careful.

I use the golf ball instead of the rock. Also use a come-along, chain hoist or pickup; whatever is more convenient at the time or place.

Have you tried the grill on your pickup lately? LOL!

A misplaced arrow I launched once caused one to jump right out of his skin or at least it seemed that way. I usually just hang them up by the back legs and skin them by hand but I have used a 4 wheeler, a rope and rock before.

Seeing as how my dads a taxi I've always done it with a knife.
