I think that I payed either 15 or 19 dollars for it. The call is a normal grunt call, you can do a clicking grunt, which is the rutting grunt. You simple make the click sound with you tounge and the call does the rest. You can do your normal grunt too. It then has a plastic horn on the end. If you are hunting nothing but big bucks you simply put your lips on the plastic horn and blow a series of "feff, feff, feeefffffffffff" That is the dominant snort wheeze. It is made by dominant bucks when they are getting ready to fight. It really fires up the big bucks. The call is also good in the way that you can make very soft grunts if you have a buck in close, loud grunts if you want to get a bucks attention that is far out there, and on windy days, you simply wrap the tube into the horn which makes the call very loud. It comes with the cassette which is very well done. Mark Drury tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about the call. I would highly recommend it to everyone. My friend purchased one last year and had VERY good success with it, he called in about 5 bucks with it that he guessed were going in the 120" inch range. I purchased on in the fall and it seemed to work very well. I had a doe at about 20 yards, I shot at her and missed, she started running away so I grunted, she stopped, turned around and walked back in, she came to 8 yards and I got a really good shot on her. I mean, this call will work on anything. It is AMAZING.

I've got two Lohman grunt calls but they're so old I wouldn't even try to guess the model. My daughter took one to school for show and tell in the first grade. It was a hit with the kids.

I'd have to agree with buckmagnet and double aught... the m.a.d. grunt snort and wheeze is the best call i have ever used!!

The MAD is a good sounding call and the Primos Big Buck grunter with its inhale only (freeze-proof) design and inhale bleat is a sweet call as well,but when it comes down to luring the BETTER bucks in,than I would damn near bet the farm that the Truetalker will get 'em to close the distance.This call can be manipulated to sound like several different bucks chasing a bleating doe all in a simple move of your finger and most importantly its easy to do when your hearts in your throat and your knees are knocking.

Buck Magnet, you may have sold me on this one. Do I go to a regular sporting goods store, or so you have another suggestion? I tried all the locals except for BassPro for the Primos can call, but everyone was sold out during the season. I'm a gimmick guy (who isn't) and I might try both. It'll aggravate the wife and entertain the kid anyway. That alone is worth the price of admission.

I went to Sports Authority and Dick's Sporting goods and they both have the M.A.D. and TruTalker calls. They both with run you about $15, the M.A.D comes with a cassette tape and the TruTalker comes with a VHS tape.

I got my grunt snoort wheeze at K-Mart. You can get them at Wal-Mart and pretty much any other place. M.A.D. has another call, it is an inhale/exhale snort grunt wheeze call. It is probablly even better than the call I have just because you can inhale and exhale with it. I am VERY pleased with M.A.D calls, I used them for turkey hunting and loved them, so I tried the deer calls and I was amazed. Try them, I think that you will be impressed.

The HS Truetalker I have and like it. I also have a Primos Buck&Doe hands free. That's my favorite. Very small and sounds as good as the larger calls. Wear it around your neck and you don't even know it's there.I've bought several calls but these are my top two. Ruger Redhawk
