My Browning prefers the Winchester 00 Buck 3 inch load and the Improved Cylinder choke...

My Remington 1100 prefers the Winchester #1 Buck 2 3/4 loading...

My double perfers Winchester 2 3/4 #1 Buck in the Full Choke barrel and 00 Buck in the Modified...

My Remington shotgun would pattern Remington 00 better than other sizes and brands.

If you have a Stoeger 2000, you should also have Cyl, IC, Mod and XF choke tubes, unless you bought the gun used. Buy several boxes of buckshot and try it with different chokes to see which one patterns better.

Of course, I'd probably more strongly recommend that you ditch the buckshot and go with rifled slugs. They'll give you longer range and are far more lethal. Buckshot doesn't exactly have the best rep as a humane deer killer.

I agree, if you have to use buckshot check out the Dixie slug companies tri-ball load. It has 3 balls that are .600 diameter.

For long range I'll use my 243.I dont think you can shoot 00 buck through a XF choke! The longest shot i'll have to make is 250 yards.I want buckshot for shots in the woods under 50 yards. Are slugs better than buckshot in thick stuff?

Slugs are always better than buckshot. Buckshot doesn't work very well unless you get a tight pattern and hit the deer with the full load, if you can hit him with that you can hit him with a slug.

2 3/4" rifled slugs kick less than 3" buckshot. The buckshot load is pushing twice as much weight out of the barrel. 3" slugs are unnecessary, the 2 3/4" loads kill just fine.
