I fall along the same lines a Jorgy. I have lived in and hunted in five different states including Texas and every where except Texas I was able to hunt public land and did not have to pay any fees at all. The only reason that I was able to hunt in Texas was my mother worked for BFI and one of their perks was they leased about 20,000 acres in south Texas. All we had to do was sign up for when we wanted to hunt. There is no way that I would pay the fees that land owners charge in Texas.

One cent.
i agree. but i live on a farm. so i got lots and lots of hunting spots. but if i had too i would say that 125$ would be my limit. because i am sure you would get up into the to 250 for gas, ammo, tag, food, ect.... realy i would pay about 300 for everything like ammo, tag, food, place to stay, ect.... but more i would say forget it i will find some other way.

I guess I need to make this a little simpler.
If you HAD to Pay to HUNT what is the MAX. amount you would pay? You are killing me here. LOL
So far we have two who missed the question, one that would not hunt, and five that have a range from about $40 to $1900.

Who, I guess that would depend on you income, I' m sure it makes a lot of difference if you make 12,000 $ a year or if your income is 200,000 $. I guess it would depend on priorities. I would not pay for a lease because there is so much open public land available around here. Hope I answered your ? Bobby

Are we are talking about just to lease the land to hunt and not paying for any guide services? If someone else owned the entire United States and there was no public land anywhere and I had to pay or not hunt then/

MAXIMUM

Whitetail deer = $250
Mule deer = $250 - $500
Elk = $1000
Moose = $1000
Sheep & Goats = $500 - $1000
Antelope = $250
Black bears = $250
Grizzly = $500 - $1000

Your really making this much harder than it is. lol
Lets try this again.

Ok, Lets say that Elvis came back and bought every last peace of land in the whole U.S.A., All the farms, ranches, parks, EVERYTHING. There wasnt any land to hunt on ANYWHERE that was FREE to hunt on. (everyone with me up to here?)lol
Now then, he dont know you and dont care who you are and will not let anyone hunt on any of this land for free. (ok I think I covered all the loop holes here)
You now want to hunt and see a add in the paper, " Hunting Lease need 1 (could be more if you like but no more than 5, ok), hunter. 1,240 acre' s of land. Call 1-900-Elvis.

You call and find that the land is not too far from you and you go look at it. It has deer, elk, turkey, hogs, quail, some moose, and some fishing. (I can tell you if this place is in Texas its going to cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ )
You fall in Love with this place. You call Elvis back and Ask him, " How much is it going to cost me to hunt on this 1,240 acre' s of land?) He tells you to make him a offer. He also tells you that since you looked at the land he has a lot of hunters wanting to lease this land but since you saw it first and are a buddy of Who he will let you have, ONE BID, (I am not going to let you have anymore slack here, LOL)

NOW its up to you, You want it, There is no other place to go. You know your real home budget and can only afford so much money. What is your MaX. amount of $$$$$$$ you can afford to bid?

Guys and Ladies, If you come back with more questions about free hunting Im going to have to hurt ya!

The worth of a hunt is all with in the hunter. My dues are not to high being it is family land.

On the other hand I live out side of the country at this time and every year I spend more than a thousand bucks for airline costs.

Then my hunting lic., gear, supplies and gas it all adds up! My deer season cost me more that twenty five hundred buck each year all this for no more than a week worth of deer hunting.

This cost doesnt even include other hunting.

So, to me if I can afford it and thank the good Lord at this point in my life I have been blessed to be able to do so. But, I would litteraly do what every it takes to get into the woods in resect to the cost of hunting.

Happy hunting!

If it has all of this on one piece of property and I am allowed to hunt all of it then I would pay up to $3000 - $5000 if I had it.

I was on the same track as you except you can' t find all of these animals on one piece of property so I listed them seperately.

Our " lease" 900 acres of very good deer hunt property in Ontario, costs us about $1000-1200 cdn total in repairs and improvements to the cabins and property every year. And about 3-4 guys about 3-4 days of labour a year. We also donate 8 hours each to the charity the owner is heavily involved with. Plus a good bottle of scotch at christmas! We can and do use the property and cabins all year long!

The rancher across the road charges $20 per person/ per day too hunt his 800 acres,, there were 40 trucks parked outside of it openning day!! Id say we have a great deal!
