I know that's why you said go to Texas. I live in West Monroe and own land in Lillie (Union Parish), which is between Bernice and Junction City, Ark. I know there are deer in Richland Parish, but it wouldn't be my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.... choice to hunt. There just aren't near as many deer there as there are in many Parishes in the state, but you probably already know that. I'm not trying to knock where you hunt. You may be in a productive area in Richland.
Yeah, I grew up in El Dorado,AR and have a couple of leases north of Junction City. We use to have a lot of Louisiana hunters coming over the border, but I don't think it happens as much now.

I use to haul **** through Bernice on the way from Louisiana Tech and El Dorado many moons ago. Use to make that run in about thirty five or forty minutes. :D

Thirty-five to forty minutes from Tech to El Dorado? Damn boy, how many tickets did you get?
None, believe or not. :D

Seems like there weren't that many cops on that stretch of road back in the late 70's. I got my first speeding ticket in Mississippi coming back from Ft Benning a couple of months after graduating from La Tech.

"What is surprising is the ecoextremist deer plan still being in place despite the continued outrage of Pennsylvanians over it"
The problem is that the outrage is only felt by a single digit percentage of Pennsylvanian's, and a larger, but still small percentage of hunters. There's only one groups thats outraged and most of them come from a one or two county area that has the worst habitat in the entire state.

I have hunting in Georgia for many years.

The state has some spots where deer are everywhere. But on the other hand, there are many spots that even though you know the deer is there. It seems like a ghost field.

I believe it might be that way everywhere.. some good spots and some bad.

Its all relevant.

A large majority of Pennsylvanians support hunting in the state. A large majority ALSO DID NOT push for extreme low deer densities in the name of ridiculous goals like unnatural amounts of trillium and hobblebush!!! As Audubon clowns have. A far smaller contingent of extremists (much smaller than number of hunters) are dictating the management, and pushed for the "extremes" in the first place.. The hunter nonfriendly (not antihunting, just couldnt care less about the sport, as long as their agenda is fulfilled) whackos like many of the audubon and other supposed "environmentalist" groups. That is wrong.

" There's only one groups thats outraged and most of them come from a one or two county area that has the worst habitat in the entire state. "

Not true. The entire states wmus have been reduced well below cc. The deer densities on average in the BEST wmus are below 24 owdpsm. Thats lower herd goal than the best areas of Maine and other low dd states.

And when you speak of the vast expanses of Pa with 10 owdpsm or less, your speaking of the ridiculous. The complaints are coming from across the state. I am actually from one of the "better" areas and it is far poorer than should be. And I do not know ONE hunter from the area that supports the current level of excessive reduction that is continuing according to pgcs own data on the annual reports, despite claims of reduction before each season for the last 4 years! LOL

Pgc is the most hated wildlife agency of any state Ive ever seen or heard of. If you do not agree, you are either one of the "players" from pgc/dcnr or conservation extremist group. If not, then I suggest you become more educated on the politics of Pa deer management before attempting to debate them

Hmmmm, a poll that lasted less than 2 days. Guess it wasn't getting the results the poster was trolling for. You naysayers are so predictable. Guess that's because theres so few of you and you all drink the same cool-aid that jimmy provides.

I gotta say in answer to Mississippi. There are 3 million head of deer, hundreds of thousands of public land, and the season starts on Oct.1(archery) and ends on Feb.31 in my zone(primitive). If you can't kill a deer here, you're just not trying hard enough.I shot 3 bucks last season(my zone is considered the "worst' area in the state).I passed on a ton of anterless and young bucks.Ms is far from the worst state.I'd put it in the top 10 best states actually.

I would say Hawaii, but not too many people go to Hawaii to deer hunt. Why would you?

For actually going deer hunting, I would say Florida. It is a hot miserable time in the swamp and very difficult to hunt
