Are there many bears in the mtns. of N.C.? Me and my family have a lot of land in the blue ridge mtns. but I have never seen a bear but everybody goes bear huntin and they say they see them.

i live in va. 1 mile from the blue ridge parkway. we have bears here everyday almost this time of year. they are very hungry and will eat anything they can get at. its a real pain in the rear until the berries get ripe,then they leave us along until the corn gets ripe. then they really destroy the corn crop. so we usaully get crop damage tags in september and kill a few early. i killed2 last yr.

the mtns of n.c. are much like where i live and in places have heavy populations of bear.
