RE: which brand rifle
You need to add Savage to the list.
|
RE: which brand rifle
Where's browning? Only really have had brownings and weatherbys, though think remington probably makes a nice rifle, perhaps in the future I'll know better.
|
RE: which brand rifle
tikka is the best for the money ,right now. savage would be my second pick. being you put mossberg in picks,in that price range take look at the new marlin.
|
RE: which brand rifle
If I were buying a factory production rifle right now i would list them in this order...
#1. Winchester model 70 (new one made by FNH) #2. Weatherby vanguard / Howa 1500 (not a Weatherby Mk IV) #3. Tikka hunter (not the T3 lite) #4. Remington 700 #5. Browning X-bolt |

RE: which brand rifle
I voted Winchester but I also like Weatherby too. I like Browning better though.
Most of the Remington products not all but most of them I've seen or used have had things that should have never made it past quality control. I've not seen many Remingtons where I could use Remington and quality in the same sentence unless it was saying they had a lack of quality. I'd really like to like Remington and I keep giving them more chances hoping I will be happy with them but they keep letting me down. I've finally realized most of what they make seems to have quality control issues so have given up on it. |
RE: which brand rifle
1)Cooper Jackson Hunter
2)Sako 85 |

RE: which brand rifle
I just bought a new Browning X-Bolt in 7mm Rem Mag... love it.
Also have a Remington, Savage, & Marlin. All great guns... |
RE: which brand rifle
You didn't give me a choice for BROWNING!
So I went with Rem. 700 Mtn. rifle to be exact, in nothing other than one of the most popular calibers of .270 |

SAVAGE

Husqvarna, Mauser are my favorite 2...

RE: which brand rifle
That's true, very early Weatherby made a .458, for YEARS now they only make .460 Weatherby mag.
|
RE: which brand rifle
My apologies, then. I had never heard of Weatherby chambering a rifle in .458 Win Mag. I thought their "big gun" was the .460. A little googling also indicates they've chambered for the .458 Lott. Neither of the .458's are currently listed on their website.

RE: which brand rifle
Im a Winchester guy. Shot my first two deer respectively with a model 94 and a model 70. I also have a Ruger rifle I really like. For shotguns, im a rem guy. I just don;t like Rem rifles. The wife has one and I just cant get to like it.

RE: which brand rifle
surprised MARLIN isn't on the list instead of mossberg. The marlin XL7 is a hell of a rifle for the price. i have and XL7, A Savage and a winny m70. The savage is most accurate, followed by the marlin then the m70. The m70 looks the nicest however.

RE: which brand rifle
Deer Rifles... Ruger M77's all the way for me!!! Of all my rifle'sI do have one Remington 700 in the safe that was my dad's, just never could come to like that rifle, but it will never be parted with!!!
Shotgunnning.... Remington Wingmaster's are my choice!!! |
RE: which brand rifle
Out of those choices I choose the Remington. But I really like T/C's Icon.

From the 70s era I like the BelgiumBrowning FN Mauser ...Colt Sauer ...but of the ones mentioned in the poll I would have to think the Weatherby would be the pick.

RE: which brand rifle
SAVAGE!!!!
i have had the luxury to shoot a lot of guns, my dad collects them. But when it comes time to go to the field, my Savage Weather series in .300WSM is the first and only choice for me. The manufactures listed are all good, but not for me. |
RE: which brand rifle
From your list I choose the Winchester. My "real" favorites are Cooper 52's , Sako 75's and Browning X-Bolt's. The new Winchesters are very nice though (at least the one '06 I saw was)!
|
RE: which brand rifle
I voted remington. I have two favorites a 7600 and a 700.
