ALL I use for deer is a weatherby 458,Shivers their timbers and they drop in the spot
if you deer hunt with a 458 ,you must not like the meat.i can not believe you guys really like those weatherbys .
I shoot them in the neck and never shoot over 75 yards. I hunt alone and have no useable legs. So I cant chase them or drag them very far. Thats why. I only shoot if they are standing still, broadside and on a trail I can ride on To get to them.I need them to drop on the spot. I am selective on the animal and shot. NO DOES OR BUTTONS.Last year I had a choice of 19 bucks the first 1/2 hour, but waited till the next day to have the proper ethical shot on a selected buck. And left 51 doe walk.

im a remington porson but i also like winchester and weatherby, i have the full coleection of rifles from 1971 in all calibers in all thre brands. all of them are custom and have a laminated stock.
How about posting a pic of that collection. Must be well over 100 rifles. I didn't know anyone even offered laminated stocks in 1971...

That's true, very early Weatherby made a .458, for YEARS now they only make .460 Weatherby mag.

My apologies, then. I had never heard of Weatherby chambering a rifle in .458 Win Mag. I thought their "big gun" was the .460. A little googling also indicates they've chambered for the .458 Lott. Neither of the .458's are currently listed on their website.
