RE: POLL....Tree stands

Sounds like the same seat I have. I don' t mind a couple nibbles here and there, but when they take to building a nest on the platforms, they' ve gone too far. I had a Loggy climber I would use tree steps to get into. I' d leave it in the tree cause I loved the stand once it was installed, but was loud and cumbersome. I' d tear down a nest today, damn rat would have another built the next. He finally gave up tho.

Blackwater Creek stands!

Chain on-safest and most durable

Square-steel tubing to hold platform up-stronger than cables

4-web 20" wide hamock style seat-most comfortable

Summit Viper climber - light(19#),quiet,comfortable,and very stable.

Strongbuilt Ladder Stands - Strong,lots of room,quiet(no creaks and squeaks when climbing)15 1/2' high,reasonable priced($65-75)

I use the ladders where I hunt near bedding areas and in established funnels, put them up in early August(they don' t steal stands too bad up here)and the deer are totally used to them come hunting season.I use a chain and turnbuckle at the top as it bites better on smaller diameter trees, use a ratchet strap at the mid-brace and it keeps the stand tight and noise free when climbing up and down.

I use the climber when I come on an area where a buck is traveling and I want to set up fast and quick. Also good for deep in the woods where I don' t want to lug a ladder stand.

I don' t use hang ons or loc ons as I like a large seat and a lot of comfort for an old tired back, they were more for my younger days. One other thing,I bolt one of those cheap poly boat seats that Wally World sells in the summer for $6-7 to my ladder stands and you get an all day comfort stand with back support and only a couple # extra weight.

I' m kind of like woodseye I put up my lock ons and ladder stands early in the season and will hunt them till the pressure gets heavy then I will dust off my treelounge.
I' ve said it before and I' ll say it again with a treelounge you can stay all day long with very little movement or noise. Just pack a book (bible), lots of food to eat when nothing is moving

HIT' EM LIKE A 5 POUND HAMMER WITH A 10 FOOT SWING
