Default Wayne Zaft Being Investigated

Wayne Zaft is being investigated by Edmonton Better Business Bureau after receiving the following complaint in follow up to the Manitoba Consumers Bureau actions against Trophy Whitetail reproductions who manufactured the replica. Here is a copy of the original complaint............." Not too long ago, a hunter by the name of Wayne Zaft arrowed a deer that he thought was potentially the new world' s record typical deer by bow. For the past 1 ½ years the deer has been referred to as the pending or potential new world' s record. However, the organization that determines this, namely Pope and Young, have denied Zaft' s claim after the rack of the deer was panel scored on March 8th of this year. Pope and Young' s sister organization, Boone and Crockett, have also denied/rejected Zaft' s claim. Boone and Crockett is responsible for game record keeping of all animal regardless of method of harvesting, whereas Pope and Young only consider animals harvested by archery. After being rejected by both organizations a magazine called Buckmasters proclaimed Zaft' s deer to be their #1, but only in 1 category and there are 20 different categories in this organization but they are not the official World Record Keepers. However, Wayne Zaft is continuing to herald his deer as the new World Record even though both organizations that decide these things have rejected his claims. He refers to his deer as the new World Record on his web page ( www.zaftbuck.com ) I believe this to be a gross misrepresentation of the facts in order to drum up business for his operation, Wayne Zaft Hunting adventures. I hope you can set the record straight."

I think people who were perhaps influenced to book a hunt with Wayne based on his World Record claim, would care considerably.

White-Raven,

Have you ever thought of posting something helpful or useful to other hunters? I was the same way as you are awhile back. I always wanted to get on here and ruffle some feathers. Two things I found out, no matter how hard you try, you can' t really make someone mad, and number two, helping people out is much more enjoyable than trying to get everyone fighting.

I love helping people who have questions about new bows or accessories, I love discussing hunts, what went right, what went wrong, I love discussing new gear and tests done on it, ect. It is much more enjoyable. Not only that, but, I have learned much more information this way. I have become a better and more knowledgable hunter since I stopped my childish posts.

I am not trying to attack or make fun of you, just giving you idea that you might want to follow. In the long run, it is a much better idea. I would much rather come on here and post and have other members saying " There is Buck Magnet again, he is a good guy, I hope he can help me with my problem" instead of them saying " O god, there is Buck Magnet, I wonder what type of crap he will be stirring today" .

Hey Buckmagnet, well put! When I first started posting here I would look to piss people off or insult them, not good. I learned the hard way and I took heed! This is a VERY interesting place at times and it is sad at times as well. I have learned alot about hunting and about world events, past and present. Sometimes I read threads and don' t post because I am not sure of the facts or am just not sure of the subject. I learned that the hard way as well. Alot of what I learned about hunting here I couldn' t of got from a video. Its almost like " hands on" hunting here, which I like. You get all kinds of opinions from all kinds of DIFFERENT people, which is good, I think! A little culture if you may. Alot of good info and sadly alot of Bullsh*t is posted. Some people just don' t get it! By the way this is my first and only message board I have ever posted on, I am an Addict! Now I just sit and wait for the season to get here so I can put what I learned from everyone to use. THANKS EVERYBODY!

I' m not here to be anyone' s cheerleader. That should be obvious by now. I' ll save the back slapping for deer camp. As far as I' m concerned if people like Zaft want the publicity, they' re going to get it. Zaft would have to be an even bigger fool than I realize if he thought he could put that story about the deer on " the airwaves" and not be put under a microscope. He sought the recognition, he' s getting it. Too bad for him most of it is negative. That' s life. Unfortunately for people like Zaft and Rompola there' s people out there like myself who don' t swallow everything they' re fed.
