i personaly like the rifle over any thing(i hunt deer)

I like hunting with my Rem Mod 700 .270 and Rem mod 7400 30'06.I really like using a rifle.2nd would be a Rem Mod 870 with #1 buck when dog hunting or in heavy brush.

You left out shotgun, most hunters where I live use deer slugs, rifles other than pistol caliber are illegal here. My own preference is muzzle loader.

Archery season: Reflex Highlander compound bow.

Firearms season: It depends on where I am hunting (i.e. county ordnances)
- West of the Blue Ridge Mts in VA (heavy brush): Marlin .30-30 with plain open sights.
- West of the Blue Ridge Mts in VA (everything else): Savage .308 with Bushnell 3-9x40 scope.
- East of the Blue Ridge Mts in VA (around my area): Remington 870 12GA.
