5'11" geez you country boys .... avg man is 5'9" ya know...lol,

Yeah, but I was raised in Iowa... so I'm corn-fed! ;)

Hey, I'm short. My maternal grandpa was a 6'6" full blooded Irishman. But, being tall is overrated. Sure, I can reach the top shelf, which is nice, but the fact is that most of the people who hang those overhead signs at Walmart are a lot shorter than me, and think that 6'2" is "high enough". I have to duck a lot when I go in there. Oh, and then there's the fact that cars are made to be driven by "average" people. I can't even ride a sport bike cause my legs are too long.

One advantage of being tall though, is that you never have to carry the machine gun or the radio when you're in the Corps. They give those to the shorties 'cause they make smaller targets! [&:] Why wouldn't you want to carry the machine gun or the radio... other than the fact that they're heavy, the average life expectancy of a radioman in a firefight is 6 seconds, the average machinegunner lives about 10 seconds. Having a MG or radio in a war zone is like having a 180 B&C rack on opening day of rifle season in PA.

I'm 5'11 and hunt with my sons who are all taller than me....6' - 6'2".
I also hunt witha few buddies, one who is 7' 1" or as he likes to say 6'13".

We all hunt turkeys, upland game with dogs- especially pheasant and partridge, plus rabbits, bearand deer.
We all hunt with bow/muzzleloader and firearm for bear and deer.

We all do well here in New England but the Big Guy has taken the biggest deer....11 pointer that dressed at 269 lbs.
Maybe size has something to do with it....;)

Thanks to everyone for not only the stats I asked for but the cool posts as well. I never get tired of hearing good family history or hunting stories.

I'll be out tomorrow practicing up on my bow, but I'll be back soon.

I have made this query on over 20 websites and plan on having even more up as soon as possible. I will post some preliminary stats this weekend.

Thanks, again!
