Broken off in a fight, or possibly shot off by a hunter.

yep thats broken off! Ive seen them broken off from cars, run ins with fences and other things. Including one running right into a tree, that deer killed itself, but it broke one antler off. If it was in the middle of a field, Id say it broke off in a fight!
