beauty 83 inch mulie shed-pic
Here is a shed we found last weekend. It has been sitting out for a year. It measures a shade over 83 inches...double that and add a 22 inch spread and you got a 188 class deer....OH MY!!!!!

Ok, lets pretend I know next to nothing about record mule deer. I am aware that a 188 inch whitetail would be big news but how big would a 188 inch mulie be if you were to stick it into whitetail terminology? Mid 150s?

The book for mule deer is 195 typical and 170 for whitetail if I am not mistaken. So this would definitely be a trophy, but not book as a typical. This has been out for at least a year. I would guess this deer would have been 4 1/2 when it shed this antler. As a group of three that go out, we have found close to 90 antlers I believe.
Again, I always say how fortunate I am to live in a place where the deer are not huge in numbers, but that way in size and character. We are going out again tomorrow, so hopefully I' ll be able to send some more pics along.
