RE: ohio
There is alot of public land in Ohio. Depending on what season you want to hunt there could be alot of pressure also. Athens, Meigs and Pike counties seem to be the most popular but the tracts of land are HUGE. There is also public ground in Perry, Muskingum, Noble and Coshocton counties. Tracts are not as big but plenty big enough to get off of the beaten path. Search Wayne National Forest and AEP Wildlife area for maps. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will have alot of information also. There are lots of monster bucks taken off of public land every year but you will have to work for them.

I've been told, for what it's worth, to draw a line from the bottom left corner of the state, to the top right of the state,
and to stay on the right side of the line??..
