We have dozens of trail cam pics of him during the major part of the rut here. He looked huge body wise with his swolen neck. When I shot him I noticed he looked quite a bit smaller than I thought.

Deer in the south can get on up there but its not like it is up north.

This is a monster in my parts so I'm very proud of him.

You definitely should be proud of him slapout and by no means did I mean to take anything away from your accomplishment. My apology to you if I gave you that impression.

Oh no i didn't.

I understand what you were saying.

This deer weighed between 170 and 180 lbs.

It's the biggest bodied deer that I've shot

How big do they get up there in Wisconsin?

Nice deer. Looks small body wise compared to deer here in Wisconsin. What did he weigh? Is that a big buck down south?? I am not knocking your deer just curious in the difference between northern and southern deer.

Would living in a swamp help in having a smaller body? Lack of Nutrients and food?

That is what I have came up with so far.

It's not uncommon to see deer well over 200 pounds up here. Some are near or over 200 field dressed. They eat very well up here, especially in the southern part of the state, where a lot of crops and farmland are.

Very nice, is that an old buck or young buck. I know the deer are very different in size compared to the midwest.
