I have 9 acres, 6 of which is either house, yard or pasture. The remaining 3 acres are wooded, and sit between dense cedar area (bedding), a corn field and a bean field. There are 3 trees (maybe 4) suitable for a tree stand, and I and my nieghbors tried them all. I took one buck, and my nieghbors kid arrowed another but it was a bad shot and lost the deer.

It is great to step out the back door, walk 400 yards, and get up in a tree.

We have decent public hunting land nearby, that I took one doe off of this year.

I own 12 where my house sits. The block is about 600 acres with 80 % of that woods. I see deer all the time on my little piece and have taken one each of the first 6 years I owned the place. I have passed up some the last two years. It is great walkin out the back door and going hunting. Someday I will own more..... I also have a few other spots to hunt as well that are bigger.
