Which states require permission?
Hopefully a good representation of states on the board....Im wondering which states require permission to hunt on private land and if they do, is it written or verbal. Im from VT where its not required and have hunted OH where written is required but those are the only two I know!

So you are saying in Vermont you can hunt private land and the landowner cant stop you??? |

You have to have permission in FL.

In NC you have to have written permission...
I wouldn't go on someone else's land without it...It's called tresspassing... |

In VT you only need permission (verbal only) if you want to erect a treestand or ground blind on private property and also during the youth weekends for different species...other than that, unless its posted, I can freely hunt thru. If the landowner comes out and says to leave, Id have to but without notice I can hunt as I please.
Reason I ask is that Id like to see that changed here!! |

Must have permission from a land owner in WI, otherwise it is unlawful trespassing, and we take it VERY seriously. I know in ND, unless it is posted, you can hunt someone else's private property without having to get permission to do so.

You need to have at least verbalpermission in Iowa, andwhen dealing with some people, I would recommend getting written permission, you never know when problems will arise...

In Pa, technicall you are supposed to have permission, but MANY (too many) people go by if its not posted, its open & huntable.
