RE: Base & rings
I really like Burris Signature rings. They have a plastic insert that won't scratch the scope and they automatically center the scope in the rings without putting torque on the tube. I use a Burris 2pc base (with reversible front) on my Rem 700 Mtn Rifle. The reversible front gives me a little extra room to move the scope back.

RE: Base & rings
Talley Rings & Bases....enough said. Hands down the best rings on the market. Google them. I have them on every rifle i own. With the quick release model, i can zero in my gun, take the scope off, fly to canada, put the scope back on and will bet thousands of dollars that it will still shoot the same group as when i left. they guarantee that it will not go off zero
