Young Guns - post pics!
In camp, I am the one with the camera and desire to preserve our hunting memories.
So, every year I print the pictures for my buddies as a gift. This year was a real treat, having two 13 year old newbie's (the next generation) hunting with us. I would look forward to the Young Guns, let's say ~ in college or under, posting their exciting DEER hunting adventures and would enjoy a small story to go with the pic. Parents... You can also add your kids to this deer post. * How about it Simon08/OH, Rory/MO and ALL others, give us elder folks some joy during the holiday season! The attached pic is of my buddies son and is his first two Woodcock, - Sorry I didn't have a deer pic to start this post off with. (Please keep it to deer though!) This story... I had the young Lad on my side when he got his first bird! I told Ben to sit tight in a small opening as I pushed through some bushes and pines. All of a sudden the air was filled with the whistling of a Woodcock in flight and 1-shot from his trusty 870 started his quest as a dignified little hunter ~ simply awesome for us elder statesman to witness!  |

Here is a picture of my buck that i shot this year on october 23. I currently go to college full time with an hour commute each wayand work full time but i manage to still find time to get in the stand. It helps that i get to hunt the property in which i work at. i actually grunted him in from a doe in the early pre rut here in michigan. He was aged to be only 2 1/2. I've been hunting this property for 3 years now and have been letting the small ones go and it finally paid off. Its tough, especially when all the nieghboring hunters shoot anything that walks, but i already have my eye on one for next year!

My buddy's son took this nice buck in NY. I believe he is 17... He is one heck of a hunter. I think he has killed more deer than me!

Well, thanks for the call-out Ed:). I'd post stories, but it'd get pretty long lol. So I'll just post pictures, and write up stories upon request. I'll post the turkeys and deer that I have on photobucket, because I could go on forever with waterfowl[&:]. So here you go:

Here are some of the critters me and my friends have shot this year, not all of them, just then ones I was around to take pictures.
Here is a pick of the Ten Point I shot this year.  This is the coyote I shot while calling the day after I shot my buck.  Here are some of the pigs that me and my friends have killed this school semester. I shot this one with my 12 gauge loaded with Buckshot while spotlighting.  My friend Austin shot this one with his bow.  And my friend Tyler shot this one while deer hunting opening weekend.  Sorry about not having myself in any of my pictures, I tend to be very effective at dodgin cameras. |

Got my first ever this year.... and it was with bow! Very small doe, but I dont care! I saw two giant bucks but one just caught me up in the tree and the other was quading back after i shot her...
I woke up at 530 in the morning at the cabin and it was raining.. When I got back up at 630 it was drizzling, some I said to myself "You cant get anything sitting here in the cabin" So I quaded down till I was a couple hundred yards away from my climber, climbed up and was testing my gear-pulling back my bow etc.... As Im doing this I look over into the thick brush and see something... Im like "No way, that must be some plant or something blowing in the wind. I looked closer and noticed it was a doe.. So I stood up and slowly drew back my bow hoping she would walk out in front of me soon.. Well, she didnt. I held my bow back for about a minute and a half, which seemed like forever. So I was forced to draw back down.She saw me doing this and ran about 15 yards. Im thinking "Damnit, Im not going to get her", thats when she turned right back around and walked 10 yards right in front of me. I drew back put the pin on her chest and let the arrow fly. I was so excited, I called my dad and told him I already shot a deer. I was in the stand for about 3 minutes. I climbed down, grabbed my bloody arrow (passed threw and stuck right into the ground behind her!) and quaded back up to the cabin. We waited about an hour and a half and went back down.. Since it was drizziling it was very hard to find a blood trail, and I knew the general direction she ran in, so we walked around for a bit. About 30 minutes later I found her about 250 yards behind the stand! I was so excited and did the gutting myself for the first time. Perfect Lung shot  |

Dial up users, beware ;) My first turkey (A Jom;)), shot with a shotgun in 2004:  My brother Hick442's first deer, a doe he shot with a shotgun in 2005 that was feeding in a cut corn feild:  My first deer/buck, shot with my bow in 2006 from the ground:  My first doe, shot the very next week with a shotgun:  My brothers opening day 2007 shotgun gobbler:  My 2007 bow doe:  Me and my brothers shotgun BB's from 2007:   Ill organize all my 2008 pictures and post them later tonight. |

this is my first deer 12 yrs. 2005 dress wt. 95 lbs.
 this is my second deer 14 yrs. 2007 dress wt. 108 lbs. 4pnt  this is is my first bowkill 15 yrs. 2008 dress wt. 180 lbs. 9 pnt.  this is my biggest smallmouth and my bigest perch 2.5 lbs. and 1.5 lbs. respectively 2006  this is a coon i shot last spring he was cought in a fence so i had to do the humane thing  thats all |

Here ya go Rory. This is a really weird buck. I'm pretty sure he didn't grow all that big because of food shortages. He was a biggin for this state: 216 lbs
