I am 12 yrs old and i went bowhunting for the first time. I shot at a huge 8 pointer and i couldnt find it. Then i shot a nub buck and after that i shot another nub buck. What did you guys get first season archery.

2 button bucks and biiiiig doe...not seeing any big bucks under 25 yds though

a little older...that's about it.

1st archery season... that was awhile ago... i think I killed nothing my first year!

I got Poison ivy, Poison Oak and Poison Sumac. I also got a little poorer.

First archery season was 1961. I was 13. Where I lived in SE louisiana, deer were relativley rare back then. I got one shot. Shall we say my first season I got a "lesson" about adequate preparation.Missed a spike at maybe 15 steps. Shot, oh I'm guessing, went 5 feet over its back! Man was shaking.I did find my arrow, which with the braodhaed was then a major investment of my hard earned summer money. That was in some ways a long time ago, but seems like yesterday in my mind.

I was hooked.
