Actually I expected this thread to be locked long before it reached 7 pages.However,most people are probably not even aware of the forum rules,so I thought that I would post the rules for those people that don't know that such threads are in violation of those rules.If you could care less,then simply ignore my post,but don't bother pleading ignorance if a moderator does come after you for starting such a thread.

True. But unless you have a (very good) lawyer following you around wherever you go, it's highly unlikely that anyone can avoid being ignorant of all the minutae contained in the law these days. If our legal system was as it should be, and was meant to be by the founders of this country, then this would be less of a problem.

The Constitution of the United States of America, including all 27 amendments, is about 12 pages long. The US tax code (Title 26) is a total of 16,845 pages long, filling 20 volumes. For comparison, the Holy Bible (Revised Standard Version-Catholic Edition, the one I use, which contains the complete canon of scripture), is 1,272 pages.

So while ignorance of the law is no excuse, I think it's safe to say that ignorance of the law is unavoidable.

Yea right Pal.:DIgnorance of a law is not a legal out.

First year that NYS let you sign over permits I broke a law,and then posted about on here.lol. Felt pretty stupid.

Actually I wasn't,I preferred to deal with things myself.
But I don't hesitate to turn in trespassers and poachers.They deserve whatever they get for their actions.

I personally don't agree with those saying it is okay to shoot more than 30 minutes before or after sunset, while you can possibly see a deer in your scope 30 minutes after sunset, tracking and finding the deer after it is down is MUCH more of a challenge in complete darkness.

I really have a hard time believing that there are over 30% of the folks who have never forgotten a pen to sign their license with, allowed a hunting buddy to pick up and carry a downed bird for you, there are a TON of tiny little rules out there that are very easily broken by accident. Maybe a large % of that 30% just doesn't know the rules that they've broken yet?
