hey guys. i've been having a problem with burglars recently. Well, i believe that its the same burglar coming over at night. He's been seen like 3 times within the past 3 months with one successful hit on my house; however, he's never been caught and last time i saw him, i let my dog chase him away; however, i believe he will be back ( my dog is small. he might come back with meat) . On that note, do you guys know if im allowed to shoot him? I've never hunted before and he would be a good trophy to add to my starting collection. I live in the city where this stuff happens alot. So, can someone fill me in on how i can hunt him? I have 2 tents set up in the back yard for the dogs and my woodland camo ready for a good burglar hunt in my bushy backyard. I think it would be fun, but i wouldnt want to be charged with anything for shooting him. And, if i do shoot him, does that prevent me from ever owning a gun ?

I would suggest burying a bunch of claymore mines all around your house to deal with the thief. But keep your dog in the house because sometimes even a small dog will set off a landmine. If you can't find claymores then dig a bunch of 5 foot deep pits and line them with fire-sharpened sticks that are coated with AIDS-infected blood, then cover the holes with branches and dirt. If youuse enough branches and dirt, the dog should still be able to roam about the yard without falling in the pits. Happy hunting.

I'm ok with the shooting part, but I'm not sure I could handle gutting him!! :) And I can allready see the expression on my taxies face when I bring him in to get mounted!!!

Seriously dude, shoot him with a camera first and let Johny Law take their turn, if that doesn't work go for plan B!

I would go with a snare. You know the kind they use in the old cowboy movies that pulls you up and hangs you from a tree head down. It always works in the movies. A villain can be wandering around, and somehow every timehe seems to step in that single snare set for him. It has to work. Use with caution though. Sometimes the good guy accidently gets caught in the snare. Let him hang for a couple of hours before calling the police. You and your buddies can have a campfire and drink beer while watching him hang. Sounds like a high old time, doesn't it?You can do all this, or you can just get a bigger dog.

I hate to be a wet blanket because this stuff is funny; but I suggest editing/deleting the whole post just in case you do have to shoot/kill him. This could be seen as pre-meditated murder if anyone got a hold of it.

You could also rig a swinging snare like the Viet Cong did in the John Wayne movie Green Berets. it will jerk them up in the air and then swing them overagainst awall of bamboospikes.The bamboo might be hard to find though.

Honestly, try not to shoot him and call 911 if you hear him breaking in. If you must confront the guy, be ready. If you must shoot him, tell the police, you were in fear for your life (make sure he has a weapon or something (stick a house knife in his dead hand)). Get a security camera or two and place them in a spot he may go into and catch him on video.

Seriously, laws vary from state to state and from city to city. Do your ownhomework. You don't want to go to court and say, "A bunch of hunters on the internet told me I could."

Practically, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

As far as I know you can only act in self defense. And I think he has to be inside your actual residence nothing to act with extreme force like using a weapon.
