Big thing on another site is something called the scent smoker. The idea is basically that deer are not spooked by smoke at all, so if you smoke all of your clothes/gear its a great cover scent. I wouldnt worry about smoke from your house. As far as the dogs go, as long as they are at the house and not running around the woods while you're hunting you should be okay.

ok becasue my dogs follow me if i go out to the woods. but we lock them up when i hunt but they roam free and go all over the place where i hunt
