Hunting exclusively on private family farm land with vouchers, we have to option to make it easy or difficult. Typically we hunt very hard and are selective about what buck deer we shoot and which ones we pass on. Doe deer are very easy if you are patient and glass for them at dusk.

There are no easy deer on my property. Lot of time putting in food plots and putting up standsduring 100 degree weather in July. I may only be in the stand for 20 minutes in October, but there is already plenty of sweat equity invested in each deer. However, you will never hear me complain because I love every minute I'm get to spend doing these things.

Besides, just as people have been saying, Once you pull the trigger the real work starts.

Some people are just more lucky then others. My buddy this year went out a total of two days and shot doe and a 126 inch 8 point with his shotgun. I have gone out almost everyday after school and on the weekends and i have gotten a doe and a five point. Some depends on luck and others are just committed.

It seems like the hardest hunting is the most rewarding and memorable. Sitting on stand all day long, stalking, or still-hunting to success is much the opposite of walking in the woods and blasting one, wham bam done. I prefer hard hunting over easy any day.

I say it's both. Going out and sitting in a good spot long enough to eventually seeing and shooting a deer is easy. Consistently killing trophy bucks is hard, very hard.

I dont beleive hard or easy are the right words.I hunt all season long from sept. to jan. and I dont tag out until the season is near over so I can go out again.I think it is the most enjoyable thing that I have ever done.If it were truly hard not as many people would be doing it and looking foward for the season to begin like we do.Sometimes we do hard work to make everything right and put ourselves in the right place,but unless you are filthy rich,you have probably worked a lot harder in life with a lot less reward,nothing is worth the peace and quiet of sitting in the woods where the fast paced life and all of its crap is forgotten,and who knows you may see or take a nice deer while you are out there clearing you mind and soul of the thing called life.
