I'd say he's definitely hiding something. I mean, who shoots a deer of that size and saws the antlers off like that????? He probably shot him in the face.

Is that even an actualskull plate? Looks glued on. Sheds perhaps? Pen raised? In any case, the number of mega-mass bucks is asounding these past coulple years. Maybe the fertilizer runoff in the water is altering these freaks??

Taxidermists saw the antlers off like that. They then attach the skull plate to a form.

The BEST taxidermist build the FORM to fit, not alter/change plate, IMHO. Looks like standard cut, then taxi will add/subtract to/from form
