Ok so my good buddy and his wife are having their first child(actually first child of all the guys) and my wife and i are lucky enough to be named the godparents. We are having a custom youth 410 made for the little guy and giving it to the parents to put in the safe as the little guys first gun to take out to the property with the pops and his godfather as we pass down the love of hunting to the next generation. We are wanting to have something engraved on the barrell that has meaning but i am drawing a blank. so far all we have is "dont shoot your eye out kid, love your godparents" but we would like something with more of a "motto to live by" type of saying.
Any advice is appreciated in advance.

Well, I lost my adopted dad yesterday and this seems to strike a chord with me. I was of noactual relation to this incredible man, but as he told me 6 months ago "I could not love you any more if you where blood related"..... I am thinking something along the lines of getting the point across thateven though you are not connected by actual lineage you are in fact connected through spirit.
Just something to let him know that even though yall are not his real parents. You will love him as though you where.
Sorry about being kind of sappy.... Can't stop thinking about my dad.

If you want to engrave a motto or something similar, put it in latin. It doesn't matter what you say, really, but putting it in latin makes me it feel 'smarter' and 'enlightened' to most people. Most people also don't know what it means, but if you know what it means you can tell him or her and it could either by their secret little motto between you guys or he/she could be proud and feel smart, showing it off.
