RE: Average score
Wow you got same damn patient hunters in that state for the average to be 130 for whitetails. I would venture to say that the average score in any state is probably more around 100 for whitetails. Each year, the vast majority of antlered deer killed are 1.5 year olds that will have trouble scoring 80-85 inches. Granted I pass on those deer and more people are passing on them, but the facts are 1.5 year olds make up the majority of the harvest. 130 class bucks are all gonna be 3.5 to 4.5 year old deer. No way the majority of bucks killed in any state are of that age group.

RE: Average score
At my hunt club we have a 15 wide or 12 tall rule that lets our deer usually get to at least 2 1/2 years old. I would saw that the ave. is still only 120 - 130 because we still have folks killing the deer that are right at 12 tall and 15 wide.

RE: Average score
Many 15 inch deer won' make 120 and most 2.5 year old deer wont make 120. Your hunting club may average 120 to 130, but that is a smallstatistical sample. Sample you county. Add up all thescores and divide by number of bucks taken. I find it almost impossible to believe that any county in the USA will average 120-130.

130 average is very hard to beleive. when you throw in spikes, forkhorns and scrubs, it would takea lot of world record deer to make an average of 130. Unless your state has done such a good job drinking the outdoor channel koolaid since the 1950's with the quality deer management bs and every deer has good genetics and there just are not any sub par deer there. and every hunter has a really good place to hunt and is very patient and waits for a mature deer. come on now.
