Default Hunting Spot

Here is a pic of where I'll be hunting here in Southern Maryland. I've seen several deer in this area, been scouting since mid-summer and I'm hoping that all the hard work over the summer will payoff. One week from Saturday...CAN'T WAIT!

MDDEERHUBTER-have you looked up and down the creek to see where the deer have crossed. There should be several different places find the one that seemed to be the most tracks crossing both ways , then put your stand about 15-20 yards off the crossing and you should be sat. good luck to ya .Let me know how that works for you .

I had the pleasure of bowhunting in Maryland this year and I was thinkng that this place looked familiar.....just by chance would it happen to be on public ground? Not asking you to reveal your spot but if it's where I think it is, I might offer a few suggestions....

Looks like a good spot. Already said, but try to find a well used spot where the deer seem to cross the creek. Where in So. Maryland do you hunt? I'm from washington county and bow and rival hunt their. Not many big deer DNR recently allowed the taking of 12 deer per season!! Thats 36 total deer if I were to limit out each season. Has really put a hurtin' on the quality of deer we see here in western maryland!

The tree that I'll be set up on is about 30-yards off the stream(left of the pic). Yes, I have been up and down the stream and found spots where the deer have been crossing. It looks like someone grabbed a shovel and dug a hole right in the bank of the stream. I've seen several deer in this area.

Peck1524, I hunt down here at St. Mary's river State Park. I've been hunting down here for 4-years. The bag limit is the down here in St. Mary's County. I hunt muzzleloader and shotgun and that would be 24-deer. I will never get even close to that.
