Default Please hlep me...25.06 load?

Need some help please...I got a new 25.06 and haven't chosen a round for it. I got it narrowed down to a few that I can get locally. My main question though is would an 85gr. silvertip ballistic be enough for whitetail deer? Or do I need 100gr?

I would stay away from the lighter grained ballistic tip. They tend to be a bit fragle in the lighter wieghts. Wich ever of the two shoots the best from your gun otherwise. I would lean twords the hornady just purley for the added wieght. However nosler is my fav bullet manufacturer.

The 25 caliber bullets are a little on the light side to begin with so I would lean towards the heaviest bullet to give you good penetration. Even the 117-120 grain bullet gives you plenty of speed out of a 25-06. 2990 for factory and well over 3000 with handloads. There is nothing gained by sending an 85 grain bullet out at 3200 fps. Unless you're shooting pronghorn nannies at 500 yards .
