Default "Indian Summer" heat, going to affect the rut?

Here in NE Ohio we are experiencing some very warm weather, 68-72 degrees. I plan on hunting this weekend and am wondering as the rut begins to get in gear here, how much will this heat affect the deer and their movement? The overnight lows are in the low 40's but it gets warm quite quickly in the morning as I have noticed. Please let me know what ya'll think.

The warm temps only effect the movement you see. They are still doing what they do and I’ve seen a number of good deer out and about. Regardless, if you look at the weather channel, the temps are supposed to fall 20-30 degrees this weekend.

Everything stopped moving up here from last Sat to Tues. but the temp. has dropped 35 degrees and we just got our first snow and the bucks have just lit up. Looking forward to the last 2 days of ML and the start of our rifle.

They'll move more when the temps are low, in the late afternoone early evening, and again in the early morning.

I'd get near daytime core areas before the deer came back in the morning and hunt, oras they leave in the evening. That is whenyou are most likely to see them. they may show up at food sources too late.

Hey,

This is Skip. Southern Indiana deer hunter. I hunted every morning this week. Saw very little rut activity in spite of cooler temps in am. I think the prerut will kick in next week as temps dip to 20's in am. Good luck
