Some long shooters here...
I'm good out to 450 under the right conditions, but hoping to upgrade to a true long range setup that will stretch that out to 800 or more. Out past 450-500 you enter a whole new world.
yes you do. thats why I said I wouldn't go over five. to many variables for how I am set up right now. but like I said...a few years a few grand down the road...Ill be reaching out there haha.

150 yards for me (depending on all conditions). But like others have said, if it's a marginal shot (even at 10 yards) I will not take it. I try to make the most ethical decision as possible when it comes to shooting at game. I feel that it is my obligation.

The longest shot I have taken to harvest an animal...125 yards and dropped him in is tracks.

Good at 250, got a lot of good marksmen on here..I watched my brother take a Mule Deer at 516 yds. with his .270, Hell of a shot.

I,d go 300 only with a solid rest and all conditions being right .
I,ve shot deer out to 270 yards with no problem .
Every thing was right .
Deer was still , no heavy wind , solid rest .
And most of all steady and calm .
Until the deer goes down that is ,,,

I am confident in taking shots up to 250 yards, but if I feel that it's a marginal shot, I won't even take the shot and thechance of wounding an animal.

It depends on the situation wind speed, direction, position of the deer, and my gut feeling for the day. I reload my own shells and I shoot alot, I dont think I would attempt a shot over 450 yards and brother thats a long shot to. I think i would rather close the distance some.
