First Deer Ever!!!
I just started hunting with my father-in-law this year. He has access to some great hunting areas in Eastern Oklahoma. These pics are of a 5 point buck I harvested this past Saturday. He weighed 86 pounds field dressed. I was using a Red Head Kronik bow and Muzzy 100 broadheads. He came down a trail that I have a stand setup along meandering around eating acorns and I shot him broadside right down through the liver at 27 steps. It was incredible and I'm looking forward to many more years of hunting.

RE: First Deer Ever!!!
Congrats!
You may already know this, but while a liver hit is fatal it is not a desired aiming point unless dictated by the shot angle, such as a quartering away shot. The arrow will often hit the liver before going through the diaphramand into the heart/lung area.
Deer hit only in the liver can be tricky to recover, especially if pushed too soon.
I'm glad it worked out for you.
