RE: THE REAL obama
let me just start out by saying that if obama does get elected, the democrats and anti gun lobby will own all of washington. Right now the dem's have the house and the senate and are controlled by some of the most extreme left wing.
So don't assume your gun rights will be okay. That would be quite stupid to assume that. Don't forget, obama (if elected) will be picking 2 or 3 supreme court justices as well. |
RE: THE REAL obama
ORIGINAL: CarpetBagger The only thing i dont agree with Obama on is his stand on gun control.... McCain thinks health care costs 5800 bucks a year on average...He wants to Tax Health Care... Ive pretty much come to the conclusion that if you vote republican then you are extremely wealthy (and i understand that), racist (were not all perfect), a gun advocate (i cant see how a vote can hang on 1 issue like this),or just extremely stupid (the majority).... Even the extremely wealthy who were scared of the last democrat to threaten their money i have one question for you...Hows your money doing these days??? Hows all those lucrative investments treating you??? Hows those real estate investments panning out??? Hows your interest rates??? Obama is condemmed for having a socialist view of our economy, while McCain wants to buy up banks bad housing loans...Its the same damn thing. When the middle class has money they spend it. Joe the plumber is an idiot and will never make $250,000 a year no matter how many toilets he lifts or sewers he snakes. I have been in business for over 10 years with my father and he has been in business for over 35 and we arent broke yet. I can assure you we as small business owners paying 1,200 a month (each)in hospitalization for our familiesare not voting for a republican... Sarah Palin is the poorest excuse of a politician i have ever seen. Her husband was a member of AIP which was an organization in Alaska lobbying to make Alaska its own country....Thats a patroit right there...Its all spin...John McCain is a robot and his wife has more botox in her head than Cher... Everyone is worried about Obama taking your money....Everybody has been taking my money for the past 8 years. Oil Companies, Grocery Stores, Theres no interest in banking, ect...What exactly is gonna change...I would gladly give money to the government in taxes if i knew that it would help the good of the country and maybe start a program to help your kids become better educated, or build a car that runs on water.....Your money isnt really safe no matter who is in office... let me remind you of something Oil = NO ENERGY plan. When the dem's have control they don't pass meaningful policies. We could be drilling now for oil and gas would have never hit $4 a barrel. It's simple supply and demand. Look what is happening now? demand is down and so are prices... And if you think things can't get worse, think again. Do you think obama is going to lower your grocery bill ??? WTF????? you will be paying more. More taxes, more capital gains, more everything. It will get much worse under obama. His has already purposed 1 TRILLION DOLLARS in new spending. and somehow you think he is the savior?? again, WTF.. .will you please learn what this guy is about? the free market is what makes this economy what it is. Sharing the wealth has NEVER worked in the history of this world. .ITs been tried. It's failed each time. Socialism in a time of economic crisis is the stupidiest thing you can do. And if you are looking for someone to blame for this mess look no further than clinton and the CRA. Look at barney frank, chris Dodd etc.... The same asswholes are patting one another on the back for the 700 billion dollar bail out when they had a big piece of blocking regulation going all the way back to 2003, and again in 2005 when Bush and others in the pub party brought it up. Its the simple facts my friend. here, this is from the NYTIMES in 1999, please read this and it will explain the situation. In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders. The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring. Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits. In addition, banks, thrift institutions and mortgage companies have been pressing Fannie Mae to help them make more loans to so-called subprime borrowers. These borrowers whose incomes, credit ratings and savings are not good enough to qualify for conventional loans, can only get loans from finance companies that charge much higher interest rates -- anywhere from three to four percentage points higher than conventional loans. ''Fannie Mae has expanded home ownership for millions of families in the 1990's by reducing down payment requirements,'' said Franklin D. Raines, Fannie Mae's chairman and chief executive officer. ''Yet there remain too many borrowers whose credit is just a notch below what our underwriting has required who have been relegated to paying significantly higher mortgage rates in the so-called subprime market.'' Demographic information on these borrowers is sketchy. But at least one study indicates that 18 percent of the loans in the subprime market went to black borrowers, compared to 5 per cent of loans in the conventional loan market. In moving, even tentatively, into this new area of lending, Fannie Mae is taking on significantly more risk, which may not pose any difficulties during flush economic times. But the government-subsidized corporation may run into trouble in an economic downturn, prompting a government rescue similar to that of the savings and loan industry in the 1980's. ''From the perspective of many people, including me, this is another thrift industry growing up around us,'' said Peter Wallison a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. ''If they fail, the government will have to step up and bail them out the way it stepped up and bailed out the thrift industry.'' |

The Obama-Biden ticket will work with law enforcement, gun violence victims, and all those who want to do more to protect themselves, their families, and their communities from gun violence. seems to me that the best way to protect myself is with my own weapons???? The Brady report notes that Senator Barack Obama said in his convention acceptance speech that we should keep assault weapons out of the hands of criminals. Senator John McCain has opposed a ban on assault weapons. who exactly does he consider a criminal??? |

RE: THE REAL obama
"
Actually, no. That's due to our system of checks and balances. You're not going to see a change to the Constitution regarding gun rights. Guys, your gun rights will not be changing under Obama. What will be changing, however, is the backwarddirection of our country that has taken place under the last eight years. John McCain is a good man and can be admired on many things but his tax policy is a direct continuation of trickle down economics. His health care plan loses coverage for many Americans. He wants to continue to spend 10 billion dollars per month in Iraq. Most importantly, the election of McCain weakens our image and alliances abroad. Barack Obama is a good man as well. His tax plan works. I'd be willing to bet that many members of this site would benefit from his plan. His health care plan is revolutionary and fixes many of the problems that people currently face. He wants to be out of Iraq. Colin Powell supports the man. Is there a better endorsement? I am the father of an eight month old boy. I trust Barack Obama to make this country and this world a better place for him to grow up in." ^I had to cut and paste that in there. Forgot to quote it. Barack Obama is a socialist through and through. Is "spreading the wealth around" not trying to force a trickle down effect? Isn't that basically saying that the trickle down effect works? He's not that "good man" that you talk about. He may seem charismatic and energetic and friendly but if you can actually look at both candidates trough unbiased eyes you see that they both suck. Barack just sucks WAY more. His tax plan doesn't work. It eliminates work. Maybe most small businesses don't make $250,000 but those small business aren't part of the small businesses that make more than $250,000 that employ more than 70% of America. So in essence it doesn't work just like the people that he's trying to get a "tax break" for that collect welfare checks and food stamps. I know some people need that help. Other people need to get to work. He's not a good man when he's taking away freedoms for everyone so that he can help a few people. I don't like the fact that the government is taking away MY freedom to do with my hard earned dollars what I want to do with them. Instead they make the decision that I need to pay for someone else's short comings. I don't like the fact that the government is basically just sucking money out of the economy for bailout bills. If that $850 billion was out with the people instead of tied up in another government program that is bound to fail we would all be far better off. there are 300 million (legal) people in America. Split that money up and we're all $2800 richer. Instead the government has it to squander into whatever they want to ruin next. Like the housing market. If it was allowed to crash back down into a reasonable range the people that wanted to make "affordable housing" a reality would have just about obtained their goal. Housing prices would drop like a rock and they'd, wait for it, BE AFFORDABLE AGAIN!! Instead we're capping how low the prices can fall and keeping them up in the more unaffordable range. We're in the mess we're in because people have been living WAY outside their means which allow prices to get extremely high on everything (including healthcare). When it crashes back down to reality that's a natural thing. It's a good thing, really. If it doesn't happen we would have a house in the projects that costs $250k and $300 Nikes. Taking money out of the people's hands at this time will not help anyone out. It will only hurt. That's Barack. That's the democratic party. No one can suffer for bad decisions like buying crap you can't afford, getting pregnant when you're 15. There needs to be consequences for everything. The old, "without the bitter the sweet just ain't as sweet," deal. And have you checked the Democrats who were against desegregation in the 20's-50's? It was a Republican who freed slaves. Abraham Lincoln. It was Republicans in congress who fought segregation. Democrats only came around for the party but they didn't do anything to help prepare for it. I believe you should check the Democrats for racism as well. I hope you raise your boy "right" there, westpalmdude!! (as in not left) NObama. Keep the change. |

Why should people that have worked hard and made smart decisions and built a business pay more taxes than someone who for example decided to drop out of school and make minimum wage. It is already setupin thetax brackets that the more you make the more you pay. Obviously if you give a 10% tax cutto everyoneit's going to seem like the rich get a big break but its no bigger % than the guy that make minimum wage. Its not rocket science! RE: THE REAL obama
For those of you who spoke of Pres. Lincoln
During this election year let's be reminded of these words: * You cannot help the poor, by destroying the rich. * You cannot strengthen the weak, by weakening the strong. * You cannot bring about prosperity, by discouraging thrift. * You cannot lift the wage earner up, by pulling the wage payer down. * You cannot further the brotherhood of man, by inciting class hatred. * You cannot build character and courage, by taking away men's initiative and independence. * You cannot help men permanently, by doing for them what they could and should, do for themselves. Do you recognize the author? It was Abraham Lincoln Very, very wise words, written years ago and we still don't get it.. |
RE: THE REAL obama
Want Facts?
GUN CONTROL: Take a look at the crime rates and firearms related murders in places like Austrailia after their weapons ban. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=15304 SOCIALIZED HEALTH CARE: So-called Universal Healthcare amplifies all problems: 1) Reduces patient incentives to find the best possible prices for the best possible services/products available. Patients in the U.S. who receive "free" (taxpayer-funded) health care have no incentive to conserve their health care dollars. Care is "free" so they visit the doctor's office several times a month or request "free" prescriptions for over-the-counter medication such as Tylenol. 2) Reduces physician incentives to provide competitive care and reduces drug companies' incentives to provide new drugs and treatments. With no incentive to provide quality care, physicians and nurses leave the government-monopolized area for better opportunities in a freer country. Shortages result. Drug companies are hindered by price controls and regulations and soon cease research and development of new medication. In the U.S., start-up drug companies cannot afford to run the FDA gauntlet, so the market is dominated by a few established corporations. 3) Steals from your wallet to pay for my health care. Yes, you do have a right to health care, just as you have a right to food, shelter and property. However, you have no "right" to force others to provide these things for you - All "free" medical care is subsidized through taxes stolen from other people. 4) The quality of "free" health care will deteriorate and the average citizen will get sicker. As the poor and middle-class wait in agony for simple procedures, those with resources can travel to other countries for treatment. 5) Destroys your privacy. Suddenly your problems are mine and mine are yours. If you eat unhealthy foods or drive a motorcycle without a helmet, I have a direct interest in your business - you are going to see a provider on my tax dollars. Your neighbors might support government bans on smoking, "unsafe" sex or other "risky" behaviors to reduce costs. Politicians will use the federal bureaucracy to force you and your family to comply with programs such as the "New Freedom Commission on Mental Health". 6) Destroys your liberty. When you blindly support a system that bestows power on politicians and bureaucrats, they will receive their orders from those with the most money - and this will not be you, your friends or your family. The power of government will be used against you as you are forced to use medicines or accept treatments from well-connected health care companies. A quick search shows that pharmaceutical companies donated $152,437,727 to political campaigns since 1990. Who do you think has the ear of those elected politicians? Conversely, if government power is eliminated (e.g., abolish the FDA - whose restrictions benefit the most powerful companies by eliminating most competition), those same companies would have to use their funds and resources to sell their drugs to the most people in the least expensive, most reliable and safest way. They would need to outperform their competitors to get your money - otherwise they lose business. If this is what you want to happen go ahead and vote for NOBAMA...Just ask Germany and Russia what it was like to live under a socialist dictator! If you are to blind to see that these Liberals want nothing more than complete control over you daily lives and rights. Just ask people from MA about their gun rights and all the hoops they have to jump thru just to own a firearm. When you need an FID card to purchase BB's and Pellets for your kids air gun there is a problem. In MA you have to get a permit to wipe your own ass practically. You need a permit for this, and you need a permit for that...you cant do this on your property...thats because the knuckleheads here voted in a buch of liberals to run their state. To me liberalism=Socialism in sheeps clothing. |

RE: THE REAL obama
Hey Sunburned down in FL, I thought I would bring up your post again. You stated that Obama is a Christian. How do you know this? He was raised in foreign countries, attending Muslim based schools. He was a member of(and close friend of the pastor of) a church that the pastor GD's America. When questioned about it, he stated that he never heard the pastor say that type of stuff. If you can, answer this for me. What kind of man will sit voluntarily in a church Sunday after Sunday listening to a pastor with explosive statements like that? The media can play it off anyway they want to, but when you sit in a church every Sunday, you know your pastors feelings on a lot of subject matter. Obama knew about how the preacher was, and still attended that church. In my book, he must agree with what the preacher was saying, or else he would have went elsewhere. Okay, now point number two. I do not know of another politcian that has been so PRO ABORTION. I do not know how a man can claim to be a christian, when he feels it is his decision to let live or kill. I may get blasted by some people for that comment, but I dont care. As a christian, I feel life and death decisions are up to God, not me. The kids he looks at so wonderfully, I wonder how many he and his wife have aborted? Did he and Michelle let a baby that was born alive (as part of a failed abortion) lay in a soiled linen closet for the last bit of its tiny and helpless life? If not, how could he vote against the rights of these babies? As a family man myself, there is no way I could consider voting for this man. As for him being a christian, thats not for you or me to judge. He has known associations with a terrorist, and many other shady people. I dont see that being brought up about John McCain. McCain is former military, having given years of HIS own life in a pow camp. He is pro-guns, pro-life, and I can say that I feel that the man really speaks from his heart. He may not be the best speaker, but I feel that he is the better choice.

My running mate doesnt think I am able to run the country, I wonder if that ever crossed Obama's mind. I really do not understand how any one can want to vote for him, really. He intends to toake money away from the hard workers and "Spread the Wealth", giving no one an insentive to want to work. 147 days, that is how long Obama has spent in office, and this qualifys him to be the President. Hell, I spend more days in school each year, than he does at his job, and he already wants the highest promotion possible. He has voted against the second amendment and does not want it in their obviously. If this did occur, and guns became illegal, they would be like drugs, bu twait he wants to "decriminalize" marijuana, That would be real smart. You can not say any of his plans will work, he hasnt been here long enough to prove that they will work. Increase in spending that is really what we need now. We are on our way to another civil war, for compeltly diferent reasons, but the majority will still be North vs South, no president is going to come out like a hero in this term. We got rid of the best candidate, Huckabee, and I can only hope he comes back in 2012-2016, but for right now I stick with the man that has worked and has experience, Mccain/Palin 08 |

RE: THE REAL obama
As unfortunate as it might be I really think you're onto something with heading for another civil war. I hate to say it but the ignorance and the arrogance of liberals and the over expansion of government is extremely concerning to me and I'm sure a lot of you. It's disheartening that it's almost gotten to that point but the country needs to be preserved the way it was meant to be. The way human beings were supposed to live: Free and happy not oppressed and depressed. Government enforced operations ONLY supply the latter. What's even worse is that me talking about this and using my freedom of speech will somehow make me a target. There are no threats being made. I just care very deeply about our country and these left-wing extremists hate everything about it which is why they want to "change" America. "Change" = communism. Please, please, please people, don't let us go down that road. We are THE super power right now. We go down that road and Russia will be WAY ahead of us. Please do the right thing and vote with your head and not with just your heart.

Has anyone really read through Obama (Oslama's) Health Care plan. No taxes and tax breaks...this guy is a huge joke. I guarantee that I will take up my arms if someone tries to take them from me. They better have a firing squad of someone with, what water guns since guns will be illegal??!?!?!?!!? The guy is not thinking about anything at all. He just says what he "thinks" people want to hear. I heard that someone already had something planned to take him out. Surprise, Surprise, surprise!!! |
RE: THE REAL obama
Will Obama be able to change the 2nd Amendment? No, will they come and confiscate your guns? No. But with a Democratic House, Senate and White House, they will be able to outlaw some types of weapons, and will increase taxes on guns and ammo so much that it will force alot of people out of a sport that they love. It is called incrementalism. They take a little bit at a time away from you so it is not so hard to swallow.
Obama has said many many times that he prefers a Clinton Tax structure, that means letting the Bush Tax cuts of 2001 expire. I don't know about you. But under Clinton I was at 31% federal income tax, and under Bush I am at 25%. That equates to about 400.00 bucks out of my pocket if Obama gets elected and they let the Bush Tax cuts expire. And I am by no means close to the 250k a year he states. You might get a tax break with him at first, but when those Bush tax cuts expire your taxes will go up. Now the above is monetary issues to me. Which if he gets elected I guess I will just have to reprioritize some things. My real issue with Obama is this his attitude towards abortions. I try to be fair minded and I realize that not everyone will agree on every issue. But this issue speaks volumes about a persons character. Please read this article and explain to me how Obama is even close in the polls. In June of this year I held my 5 day old son in my arms and watched him slip away. Knowing there was nothing on earth that I could do to help him. How in the world can anyone who calls themselves a Christian vote against this legislation. RE: THE REAL obama
I highly recommend that everyone in here join the NRA if you haven't already. Obama is threatening to take away the 2nd amendment and this is a very serious issue. The NRA is a powerful org. that fights for ourfreedom to bear arms. Remember divided we fall but united we stand.
