I will second that one. I love the Goliath. Comfortable and I have never felt unsafe in it.

Any Summit stand. I have the Summit Razor SS and love it. Most comfortable stand to sit in all day and easy to carry. Very quiet too.

Check out the new Millenium M-1 http://www.huntingsolutionsusa.com/p...duct.php?id=13 . I just purchased one and should have it next week. Light weight, folds flat, comfortable seat, level adjustable while climbing, hopefully quick and quiet to set up, and expensive.

I've tried several and have a Summit also, but the best comfort, light weight climber I have is based on the old Buckshot design a lot like the old Warren & Sweat climbers. It faces the tree, making a handy rest for shooting also, and the tree gives you a lot of camouflage.

I'm like everyone else and really like the summit stands. My girlfriend and I both have a viper ss and they are really nice and light weight. She can get up and down faster then I can.

I just purchased a Baby Lite by Timbertall, but did not received it yet. Lightweight (only 12 lbs). Read some good reviews about it. It was NIB on eBay for about $315 delivered.

I've been hunting with a Summit Open Shot for the past few seasons now. Not very big but it is still comfortable. Also, at 14 lbs, its easy to carry. Wouldn't want anything else.

I must secong this. The Ol' Man by far has my vote. I would recommend getting the Ol' Man Vision or Grand Vision if you're a big guy. With the vision you can flip it over so you could have either a foot rest or a shooting rail. They are quite, easy to carry and VERY safe. I feel safer in this stand than any other climber. I can try to find their website if you need it.

Summit is #1. I have the summit viper and my only complaint is its too comfortable making it difficult to stay awake.

Had an API for years and loved it but I left it outside all winter and the chains rusted a little. Instead of spending 45$ for repalcement chains, I bought a summit bushmaster from cabelas for 150$ on sale. At first I didnt think it climbed as smooth as the API but with a little practice this summer, I get up & down pretty easily now. Its also more comfy a little quicker to set up.

I got my first climbing this year to use on Quantico got it at wal-mart its a wolverine (gorilla) for 115. played with it at my job not to hard to use not sure how to use a pack with it. i guess I will put it on the stand some how. Just little weird to get use to I have been using ladder stands for so long.

I got me a timber cruiser and am just now learning how to use it. It's not that bad but I need to practice climbing some more and practice packing it in and out before I head out with it to hunt. It's a Field and Stream Elite Light or something or other. It weighs 21 pounds but doesn't feel like it. These climbers are pretty cool!

Love my Summit Viper. Quiet, light, and easy to switch to facing the tree, rather than back to it. Good bite itno the bark also.

The Equalizer.

I've hunted with many others, including Summit, and it AIN'T even close.

Who makes the Equalizer?

Nobody uses the Lone Wolf? I heard they were the best.

Summit Goliath SS - $289.00
I will second that one. I love the Goliath. Comfortable and I have never felt unsafe in it.
I also have the Goliath SS. I can't imagine a stand being any more sturdy than this one. It's wider than most and sometimes gets hung up while walking thru tight cover but the comfort in the tree makes it worth while.

I had a Lone Wolf sit-n-climb stand last year.....one of the lightest on the market at under 20# but was just not comfortable at all for me while in the tree. I couldn't wait to get another Summit. Should have never sold my 180.

I have several different brands and types. My favorite has to be the Summit Viper.....quiet, light and sturdy.

Just got done looking at the Equalizer website. It looks like a knock-off of the summit. Few things changed but pretty similar.
Looks like a nice stand though.

I'm not sure how you get that. With the Equalizer you can face the tree, adjust for diminishing tree diameter and as well as having a locking system for each part of the stand.

The only reason I'd take another climber stand is if I could resell it to buy an Equalizer! Sad but true.

API-cant beat em, and make sure u get the welded one and not the others, cuz they creak and squeak alot...and also make sure you get a chain and not a rubber/leather strap one, chains are much better

Finally..Lone Wolf, man go on a Michigan Forum and that's the favorite..
I love my Summit Viper SS..for the money and comfort..

RE: best climber!!!

Lone Wolf or Equalizer. Since the Equalizer can be leveled as you climb and and the cable covers are 100 times better than the shrink tubing on Summit cables I don't think the Summit comes close.

I just got a Summit Titan...that is the most comfortable stand I've every had the pleasure of putting my butt in. I've also got a Gunslinger by JRH. It's like being in a lazy boy 25 feet up!

I love my Tree Lounge. I stay in my tree from dawn to dusk, and nap around noon! It does fall short on other areas however: Very bulky in comparison to most stands, doesn't pack very well (bow hunter), when you stand up it has bounce to it. It also allows for great shooting radius for bow hunting because when you stand up, you are about 3 feet from the tree. Bad part of that is the bounce, and the deer have a better chance of spotting you.

BUT THE COMFORT CAN'T BE BEAT!!!!

RE: best climber!!!

I bought a summit viper last year, very comfortable and quiet CLIMBING treestand, and easy to setup. The friggin thing just started squeaking when i stand up, I try to move very slowly, but it does no good. Anyone know what i can do to fix the squeaking noises? I was thinking maybe the spray on truck liner stuff and paint over it, something thick and heavy to coat the bottom so it doesnt squeak.

Any suggestions or anyone have this problem?
