If you're looking for a pure attractant that will work any time of the year you can try something like C'mere Deer. There are many other scents such as doe in estrous, etc. that will serve you well during the rut, however, depending on whether its the seek, chase or breeding phase it can vary which one you'll really need. Getting something like c'mere Deer allows you to put it out and have luck attracting deer in merely due its strong aroma

I wouldn't worry too much about attractants. Your main concern should be your wind and where you walk into your hunting area. It is best to take the shortest route into your hunting area and make sure the wind isn't blowing towards where the deer are. You'vr planted a green field that's the best attractant you can have once the freezes start t come. Good luck to you!
