Patience, lots of patience!

Respect for the tradition, and how we as humans would not be on this earth today if we did not figure out how to hunt to survive. Respect for the land and animals. Respect for our fellow man (and woman).

Everyone already hit it on the head. Respect for the game your after, the land your on and mother nature in general.

Hitting the odd deer helps!!

A hunter is someone who needs two opposite feelings. He seeks the solace and tranquility of the outdoors, and at the other end of the spectrum he needs that huge adrenaline rush that comes from the encounter. A hunter cannot find these things elsewhere.

Respect (other hunters/land/animals)
Patience
Awareness of safety
Ethics

Any one can grab a weapon and head for the woods, but the question is "What makes a great hunter"...


IMO, when a hunter has learned what really happens in nature and animal behavior....

Learns the meanings of what is happening and what is going to happenin nature by reading the Barometer....

Learns enough about Meteorology to be helpful as a woodsman.....

Respects all hunting laws where ever you hunt.....

Has good knowledge of different weapons and ammo and isproficient with same.....

I believe this is what makes a Great Hunter and not just........Hey, lets go hunting dude!
