95% of hunters that i personally know and talk to don't use a safety harness. never seen or personally know any one that has ever fallen out of a tree. and common sence was meaning don't do any thing stupid while in the tree, like drinking in the tree stand(personnally have a friend like that)
I teach hunting safety...More hunters are hurt from falling from a tree than shot...If those are the type hunters you hang around with, you might want to set your bar a little higher...

As far as you not knowing any who have fallen out of a tree, then I doubt if you have been deer hunting very long...Or live in and area where hunters hunt from the ground...

Use a little common sense, buckle up, while in the car and in the tree...

I spend 4 days last year looking for a local hunter that never came home from the hunt...We finally found him, by following the buzzards, he was under his tree stand...He didn't believe in a harness either.....

the correct/comfortable clothing for the weather, its hard to enjoy a hunt if your cold/hot wet or miserable

here during archery season its not uncommon to be hunting in 70 degree weather[:@], and i have hunted up north where king of the mountain wool was the order of the day
i would say the same thing accept im like never hot when i hunt

climbing tree stands. never used a safety harness and never will. Use common sence and you won't fall out of a tree.
And you actually believe this???????????? Hopefully the day will never come when you have to hear people say"told ya so".
I have been in that situation (afall) and this is by far the dumbest thing i have ever heard

Is your best investment in deer hunting so far?
My going to gunsmithing school.
Now if I can get my ducks in a row and get the $$$$ to start a shop.

You wouldn't beleave the crap you have to go through just to get a building put up.
It will pay off some time.
