My short answer: No.
My long answer: I was in the US Army. I was deployed to Korea and got to miss 3 full seasons due to it. I was not ' demanding' I would be allow to hunt the entire summer in exchange for my missing seasons... It' s an honor as a servicemember to be deployed. That' s when you really put your training to work. That' s what we (they) get their pay for. They (and I) decided that' s what they wanted to do with their lifes during that period of time.
Hunting Seasons are created for Wildlife conservation, not created to be open during a time when it' s convenient for humans....

I am 100% FOR giving them free general hunting and fishing licenses. (I didn' t say give them tags that are available thru draw only though). They never know how long they are going to be stationed in Anywhere, USA, so they' d be less likely to drop $20 if they know they' re going to be just 1/2 the season...

A friend got shipped out last fall, and had to leave 2 days before deer season. He did get a special benefit, he got his money back for his license. If my work sent me someplace I woud not get anything back. I also could not go to another state and get a resident license. Many states treat college students and military as residents but not the rest of us who travel for work.

Sure it sucks, but I don' t think not getting to hunt should be your biggest worry.

With MUCH respect, NO! There are laws and they are made to be followed! I am sure there are others who feel different but thats my 2 cents!

17 years USAF and counting. My answer is also NO. Nice thought, but I don' t think it is safe for people and ethical to the game. We sign on the dotted line knowing full well that we go when and where at anytime. I' ve missed alot of hunting time in my days, but that goes along with the job. The great state of WV allows me to back home without buying a license. And for that, I am grateful.

I don' t think anyone should get to hunt out of season. however, I do think that teh military posts should be for military hunting primarily. IE: priority to hunting on post should be a military privelege as their jobs keep them moving so often that it is hard to build a repoir in a place and get farms to hunt.

I have personally been sent over seas right at the start of the rut and it was a heart breaker but that is the risk I signed up for I don' t believe it would be fair to the game to let certain people hunt out of season. As a current military guardsman I would vote no. Just my opinion.

I am in the military, and it would be nice to have earlier season, but I dont see know need to have it that way. I do agree with haveing special prices for licences and tags.

I' m military. I can' t agree with any special seasons just because of safety, management and environmental issues, but also the last thing I have on my mind after a deployment is hunting. I mean it never fails that I have 4 months worth of neglect on the house that needs to be fixed, cars need work, the whole family readjustment period and a slew of other things. I would bet that most other military members feel similar.
