Compared to our red stag here, whitetails are no comparison but still it'll be an "unusual" trophy for a Scotswoman

If you are looking for that big bodied deer (300 plus on the hoof) then Canada is the place to go. There are many very good to excellent outfitters in both Sask. and Manitoba where most 1 week hunts will run you from 4 to 8 thousand Canadian (basicly the same as in US dollars since the dollars are about par right now). The weather up here is a factor though. Our rifle is a 3 week time frame but if I was to book a hunt I would consider week 2 (with moon and rut phases this fall that week should be the peak rut time), As stated the weather is a factor up here. Be prepared for -20 to-30 cel.druing this time. It is worth the extremes for we have very little hunting presure and the opportunity of harvesting a 150 or better class of buck is very realistic. PM me if you would like me to send you some Manitoba outfitters.

If your wanting a Trophy Buck the following 4 States have a good record for nice Deer.Illinois,Kansas,Missouri and Iowa. You should be able to find a good Outfitter in any of those States. Each State will have certain rules, regulations and types of guns your allowed to hunt with along with different prices for out of State Hunters.I Hope everything works out for you and you get a nice Buck to show off in England!

Kat1989: Just a quick heads up : " heavy stalking " is against the law in most cases, here in the states.

For Kat1989, stalking is generally called "still hunting" here. Don't ask me why.
