Pic: Could this buck make this rub?
Sorry, but I couldn' t resist posting this Camtrakker
pic I developed the other day. This is without
doubt, the smallest rack I' ve ever seen[:-]. Now
these would be some tough sheds to
find!
I was out squirrel hunting after bow season in
a new area and came across this nice rub on
a new cedar fence post ( I guess it' s not new
any more ). I decided to put our camera
up in the area and see if it could get some
pics of the bucks who might of had a hand
in making this rub. Since a lot of the bucks
in the area have dropped, looks like I' m
going to have to wait until next summer.
One of the great things about using a camera
is you never know what' s going to come
by!

normally id say i highly doubt it...ive been told and read 100000s of times big rubs can only be made by big racked bucks ansmall rubs are made by both......but huntinginga has a picture to contridict that theory...so i guess anythings possible....

I dont think that that buck could make a rub like that. all a buck like that could do is scrape up a tree. that would have to be a bigger buck to make a big rub like that not a little spike.

LOL nick!!
I' ve seen small to medium sized bucks rub fairly big trees (3-4" ). But, I do believe that BIG rubs are typically made by BIG bucks...especially the real big rubs. I think a small buck may rub on an existing (big) rub....but I doubt they usually are the ones that make them. One thing I' ve learned...expect the unexpected.

i agree with mouser06 about the big buck big scrapes. i dono though somthing might have happened. but to me it looks like you got a pretty good buck onyour hands besides that little spike
