I had a 270 WSM in Tikka.. I loved the round but did not like the long barrell on the Tikka.. I think that round with a Model 7 would be a sweet little setup..

I like alot about it.....haven't shot one though, not sure what others think, but on paper it looks pretty sweet, shorter case, more velocity.....

though more velocity/speed IMO isn't always better, I've used my .270 on antelope for a while now and feel like the plain old .270 is overkill on those guys, pretty certain I'm going to pickup a .243 pretty soon here for antelope mainly.

But for a guy who's .270 is his 1 do it all, the .270 WSM def has some welcomed power added to it....you may consider/look at the .300wsm, supposedly this WSM case was designed to work ideally with the .308 caliber.....and a 150 or 165gr coming out of that .300wsm def has some speed and power, also 180gr are a nice option for the bigger stuff vs. the 150gr max loaded in the .270, though maybe someday theyll load 160gr in the .270wsm that would be a pretty sweet big game setup I think.

I shoot a Browning A-bolt .270 wsm and love it. You can't go wrong with a .270 wsm in my opinion. I shoot the 130 gr. ballistic silvertip and it is the perfect combination.

I have a Browning Medallion .270 WSM and it is a fine shooting, acurate gun that I used last year during deer season with 150 grain winchester bullets.

I have the Remington model 700xcr in 270wsm. Took this mule deer doe last season with one shot at a lasered 298yds. Using factory Winchester 150gr. Power Point ammo. Chronographed 3200fps out of my gun.

I think its a great cal.But I personally wouldn't want a
magnum cal firearm with anything less than a 24' barrel..

I use a 300 WSM and I love it. Hunting with it is awesome, sighting it in was rough on the shoulder. I shot a buck behind the shoulder last year and he ran futher than I thought, but he left a blood trail a blind man could follow.
