RE: tree stand noise?
that is annoying, I think all stands creak/make noise, climbers walking to yoru stand with it on your back, metal banging, can be a pain. can try to sliente them up, bt good luck, in some waysI wonder if were bette roff hunting on the ground. course I like being up in the air in the morning before light, boogey man can get you on the ground! I've seen him a few times too! buy a ladder, leave it out, lock it up. also maybe there's a reason he gave it to you?

RE: tree stand noise?
If you are getting noise going up a tree do this....every time you move the top portion of your stand up...slowly but surely push down until it slowly tightens up on the tree so that when you push down with your arms to pull the bottom section up, you wont have any of that scraping noise. Slowly pull the bottom section up and then slowly press down so that the bottom section slowly tightens down without noise. I find that when I just slow down with my climber, that is just alot more quiet.
Another trick is to put some pieces of camoflauge duck tape around the parts of your tree stand that often clank and make noise...it also serves to break up the outline of your treestand. good luck |
RE: tree stand noise?
It won't bother them...I've had them walk in while I was climbing...
To hunt them, you have to be near them, a climber is great because you can change locations quickly and easily... Be careful which trees you climb...I like poplars the best, but have also climbed pines and both white and red oaks... |
