ckrimits,

There aren't any deer in Ohio. Especialy big deer. Ignore my picture. Its an illusion....

Actually, I'd say I was more lucky than anything. Right place right time. Deer weight near 250 field dressed. And score 153"

BTW aren't you in NY. Look a page back at the euro mounts. That one is a monster. Canuck33is in NY. So they are around.

I normally don't reply to bragging type posts, but felt the need this year. I took this deer in Indiana while hunting with my dad. I joined the military right out of high school and this was the first deer I took while hunting with my dad since my first deer some 20 years ago. It felt really good to be back in the field with him again, I did not realize how much I missed hunting with him and brother until I got to do it this year. Anyways, here is the picture, not a giant, but a good 8 for northern Indiana.

kickin_buck,

Congrats on a fine looking buck.
I too joined up years ago (16). I have been out for a while now and get to go hunting near home. Unfortunatly in the 10 years I was gone both my father and grandfather (in my pics) stopped deer hunting for whatever reasons. They still support me going as you can see. I just would love to get to head to the woods with them again. Or at least a deer camp somewhere. Anyway I was glad they came after I shot my buck. It made it some much better having them there. I seemed that it would have been pretty disapointing if they hadn't showed up. Sure I killed a great buck but it is so much better when shared with family and friends.

BTW thank you for your service.
