I was just talking about this with my dad yesterday. In the latest issue of North American Whitetail they listed the top states to take a Booner from and I was Pennsylvania and it about floored me. Maybe, hopefully Virginia will learn from PA's recent success and implement its own anter restricitons.

This buck was shot in my home town. I don't think ARs played a part in this. Every acre is posted and most is suburbs. 99% of the deer around here die of old age or auto collisions. This guy was lucky to have permission. I shed hunt down the street from my house and have found a 5 point side and a 6 point side.
Upstate, however, where hunting is more widespread, I've seen a big difference. Bucks in the 200lb + range are becoming common. Last year, guys I knew shot a few deer that went into the 150s. We have the genetics. Just need age and nutrition.

I saw so few deer while hunting in PA. I saw one 7 pointer that I missed, and my cousin shot when it came out from the drive we were putting on, and I saw a four point and a spike. I hunt Indianna county, and while last year I saw a lot of bigger bucks, however there are not even any doe left, I hope it gets better here soon,

2002 Buck from PA. Doesn't count because 2001 was not an AR year. However, does show the potential of our bucks. Also, these deer are all big woods, mountain deer. No agriculture.
