Cabelas all the way. Great products and customer service.

I prefer Gander Mountain. The BPS here in the Charlotte, NC area is too busy and the sales associates are very rude and not helpful. Gander has a great selection of used guns and friendly sales staff that will give you honest opinions based on what you need and not what is going to help their bottom line.

I picked cabelas because it it my favorite of the large stores, but lets be honest, nothing beats local hunting stores. I would much rather support them than any of the big name stores.

I do most of my purchasing off the internet with Cabelas, MidSouth, then some with Bass Pro. I don't have anything except a lame Diicks Sporting goods near me. I did go to Peoria's Gander Mountain a couple of weeks ago.......what a wasted trip. I would have liked to shoulder a TC Omega, Triumph, and a Savage 10ML for consideration of a future purchase. They didn't have any of those. The best Gander Mountain I've been to is a newer one in Paducah, Kentucky. And there is also a good place called Paducah Shooters Supply. I'll be going thru that way in a month or so, planningto stop there.

This is a great poll. I would say Cabela's out of those big names because they have unreal selection and great customer service, though I would much rather support the local, smaller hometown sporting goods stores.

Gander Mountian is my fav cause you can pick up the guns and look at them freely and they have a lot of great products.

Bass Pro for me. It is close and much better than Gander Mt. or D***'s Sporting Goods. I don't have a Cabelas anywhere close, so that is out.

Academy. Not as good on selection, but on what they have, they beat everyone on price including WalMart.

BPS is a close second. They put a Cabelas in down here, but it is a pretty good drive from where I live north of Dallas to the northern part of Ft. Worth. Too bad; I wouldn't mind spending some money there.

Oh yeah, we have a Sportsman's Warehouse here, but it is shutting down in a week. Got a lot of stuff cheap there.

Of course my absolute favorite store is the one that is running 50% off clearances.
