I found one in late January last year in Southeast Ohio...
Typically I have found them in early to middle of February... After mid-to late March I can never find them and if I do they are gnawed down to a nub.

in NE IA 75% have shed thier antlers by now with the heavy snow. I have been out most of the last three weeks (late muzzy) and have seen lots of bug bucks.....w/o the antlers. Usually deer loose them end of Jan. but stress makes them drop earlier.

I found the right side of an 8 pointer i guess saturday. it was 4 points. didn't find the other though. i heard they both drop pretty close to each other but a buddy in my club saw a buck the 31st of december with just one side of his rack so im thinkin i found the other side haha. What makes them drop? and any tips on how to find them?
