Default Preserve or Free Range

Only for my first big boy white-tail.

3000 dollars is hard to come by for me right now...especially with family trips and my 2 littlegirls..

1) 3 day hunt free range Illinois $3500?
2) Guarantee 140 - 160 1000 acre ranch for $3500?

what do I do...only for my first trophy white-tail...

Doubles the chances of a response. As hard as it is to get answers on here sometimes, I might give it a shot next time!

140-160 guaranteed?? Free Range?? I'd be very carefull hooking up with this. What is the trophy fee?? Don't understand, with all the variables that could come up, the " guarantee ". Just my opinion.

I would go with the free range. To me shooting a deer in a fenced in farm is like shooting a cow,but that is just my opinon.

That all depends on how you want to remember the hunt and it's outcome. An experience you earned, versus a trophy you bought.

Just my opinion, but the free range, public land forkie is a more worthy trophy than any exclusive access, farm-fed monster. If hunting free range were so easy, wouldn't all the TV hunters and their sponsors be doing it instead of huntingclosed ranches and game farms?

I'll quit hunting before I pay a deer farmer for shootinga prize pet in his backyard.

Do what ever you want to do.

Why do you even ask such a question?

i talked to a place in ky they had aantler size of 130.
They guaranteed a 130 or better in shooting range. Or they give back half your money.

i would go with option 2 since it is the same money.

For me, I would save the money for my daughters. 3 day free range sounds a bit steep but for me would be the better option, and IMO I would not consider a deer shot behind a fence a trophy.
